This type of sensor is generally supplied as a small 316 stainless steel sheath protecting the thermistor bead with an extension lead although it is possible to offer other variations. Thermistors offer the user good sensitivity over a limited temperature range and can also prove to be a cost effective solution in process control applications. As thermistors are not covered by any national or international standards, it is necessary for Southern Temperature Sensors Ltd to know the manufacturer and part number of the specific thermistor bead to be used - we can normally source these for you directly from the manufacturer or distributor. We also stock a range of beads with known characteristics.
