After many years of manufacturing temperature sensors for industry and science, it was a natural progression for Southern Temperature Sensors Ltd to take on a range of temperature instrumentation. After considering several ranges, the AKO Electronica, the TOHO and the Gefran ranges of temperature instrumentation were chosen.
The AKO Electronica range consists of small low cost temperature indicators and thermostats suitable for use in simple everyday applications. Capable of accepting Pt100, thermocouple and NTC thermistor inputs whilst having different combinations of relays and power supply requirements, these digital thermostats and temperature indicators can be versatile and yet still low cost. The TOHO range of digital controllers fill a gap between the AKO Electronica and the Gefran ranges of instrumentation. Versatile enough to handle more inputs than the AKO Electronica range, the TOHO temperature controllers will accept any one of eleven different inputs. Yet this range of instrumentation is less complex than the Gefran range of controllers making it ideal for less demanding applications where not so many features are required. The Gefran range of instrumentation features indicators, alarm units, programmers, controllers, solid state relays, timers and counters and is therefore more suited to industrial applications. Used heavily in the plastics industry, these instruments are available in several different models, each having multiple options for inputs and outputs.
